It's entirely possible that I'll be contributing more as I'm working on M-Lab
now.

I'll clean up the patch for submission, however I did have a quick question.
Many of the warnings in the build come from building as C90 but using C99
standards. Do you think it's worth instead setting the build to C99 instead of
trying to conform to C90?
