Middleware Announcements

The February Virtual Briefing is scheduled for today, Wednesday the 20th,
from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm EST. It should be a very interesting topic and
format. The presentation is on Multicampus Middleware Issues and it will
be a "virtual" Birds-of-a-Feather session. Representatives from
three multi-campus member institutions will discuss the unique issues
associated with deploying system-wide middleware solutions. Scheduled
speakers include Paula Vaughan and Kent Cearley, University of Colorado;
Melissa Wauford and Jeanne Hermann, University of Tennessee; and Mark
Crase, California State University. Ken Klingenstein will serve as
moderator of this discussion. Following introductions by me and Ken, each
of the campuses will do a ten minute presentation and these will be
followed by an hour-long BOF discussion. 

The session will again be available via H.323, Real and IPTV. As in the
past two months, more information on connection technologies, along with
documentation for these forms of access is available from this month's

Plan on participating in this week's Virtual Briefing - it
could prove to be the liveliest of the briefing discussions so
far!
