We are looking forward to seeing you at the 2024 MS-CC Annual Meeting! We are just a week out from our largest event of the year, held this year at The Mayflower Hotel, 1127 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20036. 

 

As you prepare to travel, here is some quick information you should know ahead of the Annual Meeting:

 

Check-In & Welcome Reception

Check-in and badge pickup begins at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, at the Lobby Level of The Mayflower Hotel.

 

Please join us for a welcome reception in the District Ballroom on the Lower Level beginning at 5 p.m., when beverages and hors d’oeuvres will be served.

2024 MS-CC Annual Meeting - Day 1

The agenda for Day 1 begins at 8 a.m. in the State Ballroom on the Lobby Level where breakfast is served. After breakfast, join us at 9 a.m. in the Palm Court Ballroom to hear Dr. Walter M. Kimbrough's opening keynote address.

 

Programming begins at 10:30 a.m., and multiple sessions are on the docket. Please review the Day 1 agenda and familiarize yourself with the program ahead of the Annual Meeting. 

 

As you review the agenda, please note that the State Ballroom and Palm Court Ballroom are located on the Lobby Level, while the Georgia Room and Massachusetts Room are located on the Second Floor. 

 

Sessions on Day 1 cover topics including federal funding pathways for HBCUs and TCUs; a panel overview of the National Science Foundation Computer and Information Science and Engineering Research Expansion Program; building academic cyberinfrastructure for data-driven sciences; safeguarding campus cybersecurity; a panel discussion on careers in climate science and cyberinfrastructure; and much more.

 

We wrap up the day with Lightning Talks, a networking session featuring quick presentations from organizations that understand the challenges of research and higher education.

 

An hour-long Social Hour immediately follows the Lightning Talks. This presents an opportunity to network and recap the day with your peers in a light, social setting.
