Hi all,

Our currently setup is:

- MacMini (or any other PC, such as a NUC) running Windows

- Clear One Mic – CHAT 150 - http://www.clearone.com/products_chat150

- ClearOne H.323 soft client - http://www.clearone.com/products_collaborate_desktop

- Epiphan – for VGA grabbing - http://www.epiphan.com/products/frame-grabbers/vga2usb/

- Logitech HD webcam - http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/hd-pro-webcam-c920?crid=34

This creates a “system” that is H.323 compliant, but more… it allows us to go into the WebRTC based conference calls, AdobeConnect, Vidyo, … you name it!

Our efforts now are to move into the Linux OS, using chrome. Unfortunately the H.323 client for Linux isn’t there yet… (there are a good ones, but you have to be a tech guy to use it…)

Any ideas are welcome.

I did a videoconference with a Cisco Quick Set C20 and a Sony Camcorder
(PMW-EX1).  The C20 camera input is HDMI.  Unfortunately the EX1 was a
generation behind and didn't have HDMI, so a SDI toHDMI converter was used.
We had to try different camera resolutions to find one that the C20 could use.
For audio I built an XLR to TRRS adapter for the C20's mic jack.
So you should be able to run HDMI from a Mini into a Cisco C-codec.

Hello Mega-listers…

I’m in the process of building up a ‘soft-client’ videoconference and web conferencing endpoint for a client. We’re going to go with 2 Mac Mini’s, a rolling cart, and a variety of USB cameras and microphones. If we decide to get fancy we may purchase a software switching program (http://www.telestream.net/wirecast/overview.htm )

There is a very small chance of getting a ‘real’ videoconferencing codec as a donation to add to the mix…which leads to my question-

Anyone out there piping HDMI directly out of a Mac Mini into a camera port on a video codec?

I’ve run a couple hours of testing the 'Mini as a camera' on a Tandberg C-40 and all seems well— good picture, 30fps, stable…

I’m I missing anything in this setup?

Thanks for looking at this-

~Mark
