Dear Megaconference Community Members,
Hello! Merry Christmas!
I am sending the below invitation here in part just to
share an example of a way videoconferencing-with-
webcasting can now also be done via ordinary
computers and the ordinary Internet.
Of course the quality would not be optimum -- but
I am looking forward to seeing if this system functions in a basic way (for a discussion on Mon 6 Jan, and fortele-participation in workshops in Feb).

You are invited to join a videoconference discussion
on "Storytelling and Healing: Some Ideas in the Field".
The videoconference would be webcast live, and a
recording of the videoconference would also be online.
Time and Date:
3am Sydney (Australia) time -- Tues 7 Jan.
Midnight (Mon night / Tues morning) Singapore time.
9:30pm India time -- Mon 6 Jan.
4pm London time -- Mon 6 Jan.
11am East Coast (USA) time -- Mon 6 Jan.
9am New Mexico (USA) time -- Mon 6 Jan.
8am West Coast (USA) time -- Mon 6 Jan.
We would be using "Google Hangout" with the "On Air" option.
This system enables up to ten parties to participate in a
videoconference at a time.
Info regarding how to join this videoconference, or observe
the webcast, are on
http://www.storytellinginstitute.org/88.htm .
A sample demo recording of such a videoconference is at

We in Chennai are facilitating the Mon 6 Jan videoconference
(Tues 7 Jan for people in Australia) in the context of preparing
for Chennai Storytelling Festival 2014, themed, "Storytelling
and Healing". CSF 2014 would feature three days of free
storytelling-related workshops, a number of which could
be joined videoconference. Info about CSF 2014 is at
http://www.storytellinginstitute.org/2.htm .
At the bottom of that webpage are links to hospital and
university programs, writings, etc, relating to storytelling
and healing, including:
"Notes on Using Storytelling for Therapy",
http://www.storytellinginstitute.org/72.html .
"Storytelling for Husbands and Wives",
http://www.storytellinginstitute.org/28.htm .
A therapist and I in collaboration have developed these
four topics for stories a husband and wife -- or any people
in a relationship -- might tell each other and discuss on a
regular basis.

Please send any questions and comments.
Many thanks,
