Dear Colleagues,

As many of you may be aware, this past year Megaconference Jr. celebrated its 10 year anniversary. Over the course of the past ten years we have been fortunate enough to get to know hundreds of students, educators, and technology support staff from countries all around the world. The multi-disciplinary learning and cross-cultural exchanges have been phenomenal and often life-changing. The friendships and collaborations that have developed as a result of Megaconference Jr. have left lasting impressions on those who were witness to them.

The Megaconference Jr. project started in 2003 as an all volunteer international effort and remained that way up through its tenth year last spring. Unfortunately, at this time those who have taken a lead in helping to organize the annual event are unable to continue to do so for future years. So we are issuing this global call for volunteers or organizations that would like to take on the Megaconference Jr. project and re-envision and re-shape it for this and/or future years to come. The steering team would be more than happy to work with you and provide guidance as needed as well as other resources of the project. Until the time when there might be another group of volunteers (or even a corporate entity) that would like to pick up and run with the event we will not be scheduling a date for Megaconference Jr. for the 2014 academic year.

We are very grateful to all who have volunteered their time and energies in participating in the Megaconfernece Jr. over the years including the steering team, the national research and education networks who have supported and helped to promote the event, our fabulous and tireless VJ teams, all the dedicated educators and technologists who supported their school's involvement in the event, but most of all to the students who participated and shared educational lessons and part of their culture and community with the world. The Megaconference Jr. has touched so many lives and broadened many horizons in unique and wonderful ways. For that we will always be so grateful.

Warm wishes to our extended Megaconference Jr. global family this holiday season and in all your future endeavors.
Thank you for an amazing 10 years!

- The Megaconference Jr. Steering Team
