Thanks much for your comments Amela.
Would Internet2 be willing to host this archive?  Ben?
I suspect others have pictures also, and I do.

Dear Dr. Bob (as we all like to call you),

I join the salves of warmest thanks everyone sends for all your dedicated work and inspirational ideas you shared with us. You have been a great example of committed researcher, tech enthusiast and a colleague... and a great wearer of all kinds of hats, both work-wise and literally :-)

I do have a suggestion i.e. request: would it be possible to have some type of Virtual Exhibition of Bob's Hats page/resource. I offer my contribution as a start (page made for Megaconference V): http://www.pelegroup.net/resources/megaconferenceV/bobsHats.html

There is another page as a gentle reminder that video codecs of that era were not always perfect: http://www.pelegroup.net/resources/megaconferenceV/digitalArtGallery.html

Hope our sailor hat from The Naval Postgraduate School will serve you well in navigating the waters of the future.

Wish you the very best!
Amela

Subject: [Megacon] My Retirement

I am retiring from OARnet on June 30, for the final time. (I retired for the first time in 2001.)
My life with video conferencing has been very stimulating and allowed many new things to be done.  Long ago we started the Megaconferences, which then blossomed into several follow-ons. I am pleased to see that this this now being carried on by Ben Fineman at Internet2.
I have sent him all my recordings of the Megaconferences and perhaps some day they will be publicly available. This list was started to coordinate the Megaconferences, and has since broadened greatly to be a resource for all things related to video conferencing.

It has been my great pleasure to work with all of you.

I will still be around, reading this list and maybe popping up here and there.
