While I agree with Anil I do also recognize that people are slow to 
upgrade their commercial containers, which may still use Java 1.4 
(actually when we started OpenSAML2/J development I remember people were 
upset that we didn't support 1.3 as well).  This is why I left the door 
open so that if some one really feels 1.4 support is necessary they can 
work with us to keep it on our supported list.
