Great, thanks Alex.

Steve, please include me in both types of calls, for technologists/engineers and domain scientists.

Best,

Florence

Subject: ICN Call for the End_User?

Hello Stephen/John et al.

Via ICN, I could move cancer data from Genomic Data Commons (GDC) and/or plant/animal genomics data from NCBI into my systems biology workflows launched via osg-connect or Clemson’s Palmetto cluster.   We already use both data sources as we study lots of species: Condoleezza Rice, rice, and mice.

I see no reason why we cannot transfer data we would transfer anyway with your experimental network.  Creative workflow-specific solutions can be piloted from either data source and mapped to the other.

Clearly, I don't understand the ICN protocol and need a demo.  I now understand that there can be no IP based applications.

Whenever y'all are ready, I suggest we have a DOMAIN SCIENTIST oriented call separate from the TECHNICAL/ENGINEER call detailed below.  I would be happy to overview our science and provide a manifest of datasets from NCBI and/or GDC to discuss what is possible with ICN.

Alex

Hello,

I would like to organize a call with the folks at each site who are responsible for the AL2S connection.  The goal is to come up with a plan/schedule for the deployment and identify individual organizations needs/issues.  Feel free to email this list or me directly to identify yourself as the point of contact and I will send out a doodle poll to find a time to meet.

Best regards,

John Hicks, Internet2
