Showcasing the Internet2 community at 2015 EDUCAUSE Annual Conference

Internet2 sessions and workshops to spotlight TIER and NET+ initiatives

What:Internet2 is conducting sessions, presentations, a special workshop, and other meet and greets at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference to connect with attendees and share updates and information about the Trust and Identity in Education and Research (TIER) and NET+ initiatives.

TIER is a community-initiated effort, coordinated by Internet2, to develop a consistent, rationalized approach to identity and access management that simplifies campus processes and advances inter-institutional collaboration and research.

Internet2’s NET+ initiative, conceived and led by the research and education community, applies the same community standards and collaborative approach to cloud and trust solutions that guided the advancement of R&E networking in the late 1990s and created the Internet2 Network. As this program moves into its fourth year, attendees at EDUCAUSE will hear directly from R&E leaders, CIO’s and institutional peers on the many benefits brought to campuses across the country.

“Universities are facing a broad and complex array of issues, including addressing trust and identity management on campus, as well as the continued movement to cloud based services and applications,” said Shelton Waggener, Internet2, senior vice president. “Convening the Internet2 community at industry events like EDUCAUSE provides opportunities to learn from one another and address common issues together to develop solutions that enrich scholarship and research."

The EDUCAUSE Annual Conference will offer an engaging and informative program, formal and informal opportunities to build a professional network, and allows attendees to learn, reflect, and engage with colleagues from around the world.

When and where: October 27-30, Indianapolis.
