CORRECTION: Distance Learning Event Features Michael Tilson Thomas

The correct participants in the distance learning events with Michael Tilson
Thomas are as follows:

On April 1, from 2:30 to 4:30 PM, the New World Symphony (NWS) will connect
to the Eastman School of Music for an interactive
clarinet master class. Andrew Marriner, clarinetist and first chair of the
London Symphony Orchestra will be in Miami at NWS. He
will be in Miami and with Michael Tilson Thomas, Founder and Artistic
Director of NWS, will be coaching two NWS fellows locally:
Kazam Abdullah and Pascal Archer. He will also be remotely coaching two
students at Eastman School of Music: Brian Dredla and Nick
Siedentop. The connection to Eastman will be via Internet2 and both NWS and
Eastman will be using MPEG2 codecs for this event.

The NWS will also conduct a cello sectional rehearsal on April 1, from 5:00
PM to 6:00 PM. NWS will connect to Columbia University
to bring in Carter Brey first cello of the New York Philharmonic, live from
New York and at the same time NWS will connect to
Cleveland Institute of Music to bring in cellist and professor, Stephen
Geber. Michael Tilson Thomas in Miami will conduct the
cello sectional rehearsal of Beethoven 5th Symphony and both Carter Brey and
Stephen Geber will participate remotely interacting
with Michael Tilson Thomas and with the NWS cello section in Miami. The
connections will be DVTS or MPEG2 as appropriate.

On April 2, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Michael Tilson Thomas and Neville Marriner
in Miami will host a conductor round table discussion.
At NWS`s invitation, conducting professors and their conducting students will
be joining remotely over Internet2 from Cleveland
Institute of Music, Indiana University and University of Michigan. From a
technical standpoint NWS is planning to connect to each
location using DVTS technology with the option of MPEG2 if necessary.

Michael Tilson Thomas will also will perform a conducting master class on
April 2, from 4:15 to 6:00 PM, and coach one or more
student conductors and an ensemble that will be at the Cleveland Institute of
Music, connected remotely via Internet2. This event
is planned to use DVTS with the option of MPEG2.
