Internet2 Backbone Network Enables Live Cross-country HDTV Presentation at
Networld+Interop

Las Vegas, Nevada, May 08, 2001- Abilene, an Internet2(R) backbone network,
will enable Ethernet inventor and 3Com founder Bob Metcalfe to deliver a
live presentation via HDTV video from the MIT campus in Cambridge,
Massachusetts to the Networld+Interop exhibition floor in Las Vegas.

2netFX software, hardware and servers will generate, stream, manage and
decode the HDTV 19 Mbps multicast video stream, which requires a reliable
high-bandwidth network, such as satellite, LAN/WAN, ATM, fiber or Internet2
networks. A continuous HDTV multicast rebroadcast will follow the live
presentation. This event further solidifies 2netFX as the leading provider
of ultra high quality enterprise streaming solutions for intranet and
broadband Internet media delivery.

Abilene is the most advanced and far-reaching research and education network
in the United States, connecting more than 180 leading universities and
research laboratories. The Abilene network has been developed and deployed
through a partnership among Qwest Communications International Inc., Cisco
Systems, Nortel Networks, Indiana University, and the University Corporation
for Advanced Internet Development. For more information on Abilene please
