Hi Chris,

I haven't really done anything with this since I posted the question.  I figured you guys would get around to answering when you had time...

Our deployment strategy is a war-file-only deployment to cluster nodes (2 prod, 1 test), with a designated properties file overlay directory on each node.  We aren't really doing anything with environment profiles during the build, so the war that goes out is the same for all the environments, and the local overlay files drive the needed config.  This has worked well for us thus far, but it is desirable to have means to tune the logging without having to rebuild the war file for all nodes.

Hopefully my explanation is clear enough to understand the question.

Can you just edit that file (or replace it)?  Did you resolve this?

I don't see options for overlay of log4j.properties, to externalize the logging config.  Is there a workable method for doing that??  Thanks.
