Chris,

Thank you. ( I think am 99% there... )

I did look at that. But it just did not "match/click" for me.
And on my install, I don't even have it enabled. [ yet ] So I did not
see anything till I looked at the grouperdemo server. :)
--> grouperIncludeExclude.requireGroups.use = false <-- DOH!

Full UI steps ( With a question at the end...)
View the group.
Go to more actions( button/menu in the upper right)
Select: "attribute assignments"
Click the "+ Assign attribute" button
Type a string in to the 'Attribute Name' and let the search complete.
I used "add" ( search found ... 13 .. to many)
"addInclude" ( found 2, but both looked "not right")
Correct value -->Grouper
Administration:legacy:attribute:legacyGroupType_addIncludeExclude

Click "save" and "magic happens" ( AKA: the
"IncludeExclude" structure is created for the selected group )
Yea!

"require" ( found 7 possible matches)
Correct value? --> Grouper
Administration:legacy:attribute:legacyGroupType_requireInGroups
But it is a marker attribute....?
Will not accept a value?! .... Hum...

AH! ( Now I see the detail in

https://spaces.at.internet2.edu/download/attachments/14517712/includeExcludeRequireGroups8.gif?version=1&modificationDate=1225842210751&api=v2
)

Then on the "LegacyGroupType_requireInGroups"
Attribute assignment go to the "Actions" menu and
Select "Add Metadata Assignment"
Type "requireAlsoInGroups" in to the
'Attribute Name' and let the search complete. (select the one item found)
Click "Submit"

Then on the
"legacyAttribute_requireAlsoInGroups" Attribute assignment go to the
"Actions" menu and
Select the "Add Value" option
Enter the full name of the group you want to
require membership in looks like it should work.
(If you want more than one then add a
comma and another full group name value. )

I am guessing that if the grouper config has
" .attributeOrType.1 = attribute" configured in the system config then there
are other attributes created with those names that could also be assigned to
the "LegacyGroupType_requireInGroups" meta data. ( Again, based on that one
screen capture from the admin/lite UI. :) )

I think I see what I was not seeing before. ( Please let me know if I am not
understanding it fully. :) )

Thank you again.

When you are open for "UI improvement ideas... I have a few for ya." :)

Go to more actions, attribute assignments, and pick addIncludeExclude or
require groups, and add a value for group name...

Yes, at some point we should make it more friendly

without Lite/Admin UI?

All,

Can someone explain how using 2.4 ( without the "Lite/Admin UI") these
features can be used?

https://spaces.at.internet2.edu/display/Grouper/Include+exclude+and+require+groups

I hope I am just not seeing it in the UI...

Thanks in advance.
