Even though in this particular instance we are able to get the department who runs the DB to create a view for us. There are other dept, that may not be as open to doing custom work like that. We would therefore like to make a feature request if we can increase the limit of the DB query field for loader jobs. Not sure what number would be good, but let’s just say 5000 chars or have it be a CLOB/TEXT/BLOB or something like that? We have to come up with some creative queries sometimes.

Its possible, and probable if you just proved it, but yes you should use a view 😊

Hi Grouper Team,

 

We seem to be hitting an upper character limit when trying to add a SQL loader query on our older Grouper install (2.1). Was there any expansion in the number of characters allowed in the grouper query field in the later versions of Grouper? Although a view might help we are stuck in the short term.
