You cant run it from theUI.  At some point it would be nice to be able to run the loader from a webapp.  But the loader is part of the API, and the API is in the UI, so it needs all the configs, even if the loader isn’t running there…

Thanks,

Chris

Subject: [grouper-users] grouper-loader.properties in UI config?

I've been running Grouper 2.1.3 successfully for the past few weeks and been tweaking some search/sort settings and doing some housecleaning lately. I shutdown Tomcat and restarted it and I'm getting an error in the log that says:

2013-06-11 10:19:08,165: [main] ERROR GrouperStartup.startup(165) -  - Couldnt startup grouper: error reading configuration: Problem with resource: '/grouper-loader.properties'

OK, fair enough, there is no grouper-loader.properties file in the ./dist/grouper/WEB-INF/classes folder. I took it away because I didn't think it was necessary. We only run the loader from the grouper.apiBinary-2.1.x folder (I think). Obviously the web UI wants it to be there, because when I put it back it was happy and Tomcat started/runs just fine.

I guess the question isn't so much why does grouper-loader.properties need to be there, because obviously it does, but maybe the question is how do you run the loader from the UI? This isn't something I anticipated, neither as a possibility or an option, and now I just need to know. Anyone have any ideas?
