Yes, currently you have to restart the loader when you make changes to loader config…  it is an admin module, so the users of it generally know it needs to be restarted.  There is a jira to address this but its not trivial and not done…

Subject: [grouper-users] Question on running Grouper Loader as daemon

When I create a new group of type grouperLoader and configure the attributes correctly with SQL_SIMPLE and START_TO_START_INTERVAL (or CRON for that matter), the group is not picked up by Grouper Loader running as daemon (using the wrapper from Tanuki Software) on a Linux box.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to handle/configure this? Or is the only possible way to accomplish this a scheduled restart of the daemon? It would have to be via cron job otherwise users who have access to the Grouper UI would also need to have system access (& knowledge) to restart the daemon.

Thank you,

Holger
