We use an 8 digit university ID which never changes. People are resolvable by identifier by netId and eppn, which could change if they change their name when getting married/divorced/etc Thanks, Chris From: [mailto:]
On Behalf Of Gagné Sébastien I think it has to be sometime that could never change. For example, using a DN isn’t a good idea since the user could be transferred to another OU and that would change his DN. Here we will be using sAMAccountName in Active Directory, it’s their login id and it’s globally unique. The user will always have the same login. Some people might use CN. I’m not familiar with EPPN,
but if it never changes then it might be a good idea. Hope that helps a little Sébastien Gagné,

De la part de Klug, Lawrence General question: What is the best practice for defining Subject ID – do most universities use EduPersonPrincipalName (EPPN) or something else? Thanks, Lawrence Klug IMS Systems Integration 310 825-2061 ext 52061 |
