At Memphis, we successfully upgraded from 1.3 to 1.5 via xml export and
import.
There is a bug in grouper 1.5.0 where group descriptions are not
imported (via xml). Grouper 1.5.1 has the fix and should be available
from the download page "soon", or building from source is available
via svn now.
I don't think the xml format has changed in versions 1.3 through 1.5.
