There's also a community-editable grouper FAQ at <https://wiki.internet2.edu/confluence/display/GrouperWG/Technical+FAQ> that might be a reasonable locus for such hard-won knowledge.

And I now see you you've added a comment to the gsh documentation page linked to code.google, which seems a fine place.

Cal,

I believe we are sending all bugs to https://bugs.internet2.edu/jira/browse/GRP, not the code.google link you listed below. Tom, Blair, or Gary will correct me if this is not so. :)

I will talk to Blair about getting your comments into the documentation - and making room for future examples. Thanks for sharing your finds, they are much appreciated!
Best, Jessica

Just a quick note about how to use grouper shell for privilege
management.

It would be handy to have examples of each each command as the
formatting can be tricky. We have just spent a while finding out that
the priv column in grantPriv shouldn't be in quotes e.g.

grantPriv("ncl:Central Services:iss:Customer Services:Web Services",

"

<mailto:>",
AccessPrivilege.ADMIN )

not

grantPriv("ncl:Central Services:iss:Customer Services:Web Services",

"

<mailto:>",
"AccessPrivilege.ADMIN")

I would have added this as a comment on the gsh page at
http://code.google.com/p/blair/wiki/gsh but for some reason google
doesn't like me and throws up an error.

Happy to help out with documenting examples of each as we come across
them if we can get access to a page, either on code.google or the
internet2 wiki.

Cheers

Cal
