DISCUSSION

Grouper Downloads Page on the Grouper Wiki

Per discussion on the last Grouper-dev call, Emily relocated the Grouper downloads page from the website to the wiki:

Reasons:
-the info on the website was confusing.
-Easier for the developers to update the wiki

Suggestion: The info on the number of changes in each previous release should not be at the top of the wiki page.
Response: Emily has now moved that info from the Grouper Downloads page to the Release Notes page.

Review of Recent Support Issues

Include/Exclude on Loader – Hopefully U. of Utah will be able to decide how to approach this based on the info shared in the thread:
https://lists.internet2.edu/sympa/arc/grouper-users/2014-01/msg00027.html

Upgrade script from 2.1 -> 2.2  -- it's on the demo server, seems to work fine.

ScottK had a question about Grouper database on a dedicated host - He is looking for people with experience of using one database. No responses yet.  Generally people use at least two databases: one dedicated host and one backup host.

GRP-947 – import/export bug – Shilen will work on this

There was a call regarding handling of permissions, with people from UC Berkeley discussing this topic with Rob Carter, KetihH and Chris. It seems that Grouper could accommodate the needs that Berkeley presented.

There was an inquiry about migrating  from FIM to Grouper, with a very large number (hundreds) of attributes for each user, using the Attribute Framework. Suggestion to bear in mind that Grouper is not an IdM system, but we could help with performance testing if needed.

PSP AD sync error with more than 1500 members  -- DaveL has responded to Sebastian on this issue

Grouper 2.2

UI - Chris

Chris estimated the time needed for the remaining Group UI tasks on this wiki page

As Chris works through the screens, he is documenting common functions and how to approach them with the new UI.
This should be helpful for Grouper developers and customizers:

Grouper SCIM Integration - DaveL

Dave is working on the Grouper SCIM integration. Needs to get SCIM plugged into the Grouper test harness.
Will discuss this with Chris.

[AI] (Dave) talk with Chris about integrating SCIM in the Grouper test environment

Legacy Attribute Migration - Shilen

Recently Shilen found a few queries going against the old tables. Shilen has fixed that now.

Q: When will Grouper 2.2 be ready for release? Possibly mid-March, 2014.

Next Grouper-Dev Call: Wed. Jan, 29, 2014 at noon ET
