Hello,

I've just subscribed to this list. So, I've read this thread in the archives
and I' like to comment it (that's why I've done a "copy and paste" and using
the web interface to post - sorry if this breaks the thread).

Hi!

Technically it's possible to combine DKIM and greylisting. You are
allowed to return a temporary error code after the DATA-part just as
well as after RCPT To and the sender should treat a temporary error code
the same no matter after which part of the exchange it is received.

Some implementations return a permanent error code after the DATA-part
if they receive spam or viruses today and the same behavior could be
used for greylisting if one wanted to.

Yes, there are some greylisting filters which works after DATA phase. But the
problem is that DATA status response accepts/rejects DATA for ALL recipients.

There was a draft (or a discussion about), around beginning 2007 at ietf-smtp
to implement RSAD (RCPT status after DATA) as does LMTP. But I don't know the
status of the idea.

José-Marcio
