For those using OrcidSource[1] for integration with the ORCID API, you
may be aware that on March 1 ORCID will turn off the older version
(v1.2) of the API[2]. The version of the OrcidSource plugin distributed
with COmanage Registry versions 3.1.0 and prior uses this older API.

A new version of the plugin is now available, however due to a variety
of reasons that probably could have been avoided with better planning,
it will not be available as part of a formal release prior to ORCID's
scheduled turn off date. Furthermore, it is not possible to backport
this plugin to earlier versions of COmanage.

The new plugin is now available on either the develop[3] or
feature-3.2[4] branches of github. (Development on the feature-3.2
branch is now frozen, and is therefore more stable, while new features
will continue to be added to the develop branch.) The feature-3.2 branch
is substantially similar to the v3.1.0 release. If you need an updated
version of the OrcidSource plugin prior to the v3.2.0 release, you
should update to one of these branches. In doing so, be sure to follow
the appropriate upgrade instructions[5,6].

Hopefully our misaligned timeline will not cause too much havoc for
anyone. Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have, either
