As a side effect of the great laptop crash of last month, my development environment is now using PHP 7. It turns out there are some minor changes required for COmanage, mostly addressing deprecations.
My proposed strategy is to start support for PHP 7 beginning with COmanage v1.1.0. A minor complication is that it will be difficult for me to do work on the 1.0.x (hotfix) branch, and so my plan will be to only commit deployment–critical patches to that branch. Of course if you're still using PHP 5.x you can continue to make commits to the hotfix branch.
As a side note, the latest supported version of PHP is 5.6. We previously agreed that v5.4 would be the minimum COmanage supported version as of v1.1.0, and I think we can continue with that strategy while continuing to recommend that deployers upgrade to later versions of PHP.
Thoughts?
Thanks,
