It isn't a tech issue (BB's doc on shib integration dates to 2004), but might be one that requires change to existing learning system operational procedures.

I believe there's quite a few schools running a Shib-enabled BB. At last summer's BB-World meeting there was a very well attended BOF on this topic (with lots of people dialed in). I've attached the slides from that session; some of the slides are a cookbook describing how to do this.

There's been some thinking about how to do provisioning (Brent Putman wrote up some notes) but I don't think the code has been implemented.
