Colleagues,

While the Internet2 Community Exchange starts today and the Cloud Forum is just a few weeks away, those agenda have been set for months. During that time, you’ve made advances in your projects, you’ve faced, and hopefully overcome, new challenges, you’ve learned important new lessons that your peers would benefit from learning. There is no better place to share them than the Internet2 Technology Exchange (TechEX25). The conference takes place December 8-12 in Denver, CO. More importantly, the call for proposals is open now, closing on May 9.

TechEX25 brings together IT leaders and decision-makers to address emerging technological issues facing the research and higher education (R&E) community. The event is a vital forum for collaboration, learning, and advancing shared work within the technical community.

We recognize that many in the R&E community are navigating financial uncertainty, with shifting budgets and limited travel funds. As we continuously monitor the evolving landscape and plan for TechEX25 in December, we are committed to delivering a valuable, high-quality experience that supports your goals, fosters important connections, and provides actionable insights.

To encourage broader participation, we are expanding the range of submission types this year while maintaining focus on core track areas:

  • Advanced Networking
  • Cloud Technology
  • Identity & Access Management
  • Information Security

Particularly welcome are proposals that span the tracks. There is a lot of room for the cloud team to talk about their work across the IT organization. Tell us about the thrill of victory (or agony of defeat) when you get the IAM team to see how easy it would be to move your IdP to the cloud, or how you any the networking team have come up with a flexible multi-cloud network architecture. So many possibilities!

The submission deadline is May 9. Learn more and submit a proposal at https://events.internet2.edu/website/84273/

Here is what your peers are saying about TechEX:

“People come to Technology Exchange eager to learn about IT trends, network with each other, and find ways to enhance IT at their institutions. Attendees are passionate about sharing knowledge with one another, but someone has to start the conversation. Why not you?” - Kari Robertson, CTO, University of California Office of the President

"Technology Exchange provides a great opportunity to reframe challenges and identify new opportunities to take back to my institution. As I think about what makes this conference unique, I believe the deeper technical dives create a space for conversations that bridge the strategic and operational lenses." - Andrew Buker, AVP, Infrastructure Services at University of Nebraska

“What keeps me coming back to Technology Exchange is right in the name — the Exchange. I always tell my folks this is the kind of event where you can really dive into your area of interest but also walk across the hall and get exposed to a whole new world you may not have dabbled in. It is a great way to break down silos within an organization and open up your mind to see what overlaps, what kinds of collaborations can be possible, and see what others are working on.” - Damian Doyle, Deputy CIO, University of Virginia
