Thank you for registering for InCommon BaseCAMP 2024! This event kicks off in just 2 weeks and we’re thrilled you’ll be attending. Below is key information that you need to know to get ready for the event. We’ll provide a few more details as the event gets closer.

BaseCAMP: Dates and Times

BaseCAMP takes place daily, Monday-Friday, June 3-7 for 5 hours each day

  • Reveille at 11:30 am ET (10:30 am CT | 9:30 am MT | 8:30 am PT) - mingle/network
  • Trailblaze at 12:00 pm ET (11 am CT | 10 am MT | 9 am PT) - dive into sessions
  • Retreat at 4:40 pm ET (3:40 pm CT | 2:40 pm MT | 1:40 pm PT) - wrap up

CAMP Fires end each day from 3:40 - 4:40 pm ET - join in and meet your peers.

BaseCAMP Venues

By now, we’re all seasoned virtual meeting professionals, and chances are good that you’ve used all of our tools already. BaseCAMP will utilize Canvas for session content delivery, Zoom for live sessions, virtual CAMP Fires (brought to you by West Arete) and Slack for dynamic chat and collaboration throughout the week.

Canvas & Zoom

Canvas will be your central hub to access all BaseCAMP daily itineraries, live Zoom links to the sessions, and materials that will be delivered throughout the week. We’ll give you access to Canvas about a week before BaseCAMP so keep an eye out for an email closer to the event!

As the conference progresses, you’ll find links to session recordings and slide decks. You’ll maintain access to the content through the end of the year.

We encourage you to turn on your cameras when you are able to -- this is very helpful as we all get to know one another.

Slack

All presenters and participants will be added to a Slack channel. Please feel free to chat with one another before, during, and after the conference! This is a great way to ask questions, get answers, and collaborate.

Before BaseCAMP

Check out the BaseCAMP Agenda

Prior to the meeting, review the BaseCAMP schedule and topics. Giving some thought to the topics and coming prepared with questions will make your experience that much more valuable.

Tell Us About Yourself

We’d love to know more about you. What attracted you to BaseCAMP? What do you hope to learn? Here’s a quick questionnaire.

During BaseCAMP

Arrival

BaseCAMP sessions begin promptly at 12pm ET everyday but join early at 11:30 am ET to hangout and get to know your fellow CAMPers. Thanks to our sponsors - Omnibond and Provision IAM - attendees who join this Trailhead Fuel Up mingle session will be entered into a daily drawing to win a $20 DoorDash gift card

Scavenger Hunt

Each day you’ll have the opportunity to show off your gathering skills in our Scavenger Hunt! At 11:30 am ET, we'll post a list of 5 camp-related, easy-to-find items in Slack. Be the first to post a selfie with all 5 items to win a prize!

Breaks

Canvas will contain information about each session, and Zoom is integrated with the interface. We have scheduled ample break times during the days so that you can concentrate on the BaseCAMP sessions and still have time to stretch and move around prior to the next session.

The Trivia Traverse

Get ready to push your knowledge to the limit in the Trivia Traverse! This year we will be hosting a live trivia game during one break Tuesday-Thursday. We’ll ask a mix of IAM and general knowledge questions. Everyone who plays the game that day will be entered into a raffle for a gift card. 5 players will win a gift card each day. You can use your mobile device or computer to access the game when the time comes.

Lingo

At BaseCAMP, our presenters will do their best to unravel the mysteries of IAM lingo and acronyms. But if you hear a term that leaves you scratching your head, don't fret - Slack it! Simply enter #BCLingo into Slack followed by the word or term you're unsure about. We'll provide you with an answer. Plus, chances are, others might be wondering the same thing! And hey, if you spot a term you're familiar with, jump in and contribute to the answers. Together, we'll compile a handy resource for everyone. Let's make understanding IAM lingo a team effort!

Dress

BaseCAMP is a virtual event; dress is casual. Hawaiian shirts optional. Shorts and slippers are OK (because, really, who will know?).

CAMP Fires

After a day of learning, join in one of BaseCAMP’s virtual CAMP Fires, Monday-Thursday from 3:40-4:40pm ET, connect with other CAMPers, and immerse yourself in knowledge sharing, and problem-solving. Whether you're discussing best practices for implementing TAP components, exploring how to build your IAM roadmap, or sharing ghost stories about IAM implementations, CAMP Fires are a great way to connect with your peers for knowledge sharing and camaraderie in a more casual way.

Our friends at West Arete have developed an amazing tool to help facilitate your access to these CAMP Fires via Canvas.
