Yes. We have similar experience. We had an IPC (industrial personal
computer) equipped with a Dialogic card (1 E1 + 8 FXO) as our PSTN
gateway. The DID function is not stable, and the echo cancellation does
not work well. Well, more precisely, it works well for Siemens PBX in
other universities, but not the Alcatel 4400 PBX in my campus. :-(
Now I adopt Cisco 3745 as our new PSTN gateway, and it never let
me down. :-)
