As many of you may know the TAMU ITEC has been working on a SIP
interoperability testing facility for the past semester. The idea is to
test not only basic call setup functions but desired features as well.
The tests include features that currently have standards as well as
those that do not.
The test involves testing each feature against the standard,
capturing a packet trace and comparing the process utilized to the
standards. The lab currently has access to the Pingtel SIP server, the
Broadsoft server and the Nortel MCS5100. Harvard is going to make the
Avaya servers available for the testing later on this summer. The UAs
used to test the features include the Cisco, Pingtel, Siemons and other
phones.
Candace Holman noticed that there was a SIP interoperabilty test at
the InterOp conf in Las Vegas this week. Does anyone know anything
about the test that could shed some light on that process? We may be
able to leverage the two facilities together.
