I just got added to this list yesterday, so I'm testing my address book.

Here's a good article regarding Centrex displacement with IPTelephony.
It references two schools and it also mentions UPenn's relationship with
Broadsoft.
http://www.nwfusion.com/news/2003/0317centrex.html

After having installed Centrex services for years while I was at Bell
Atlantic - I've really changed my thinking over the past five years
while I've been at Georgetown. I've been preaching that enterprise
businesses and schools that have Centrex installed now can use the high
monthly cost of this service to fund their migration to IP based
telephony services - as they wean themselves off of Centrex. The numbers
are really astounding if you understand the entire costs of what you're
paying to the carriers for CENTREX local voice service. We call it the
"leveragable dollars" to build the next-gen telephony system.

We've (Georgetown/MAX) been working with the DCGovt which has about
40,00 installed Centrex lines. Like many cities, they are building
their own fiber infrastructure and have a 3 year migration plan away
from Centrex. The're looking for an enterprise voice gateway as well.
We've estimated that they will save $4-6 million per year by converting
to PRI and IP based carrier trunking and installing and managing their
own gateway. The savings alone from the installation of a centralized,
- non carrier provided voicemail platform will be at least $800k/year.

The numbers are really astounding if you understand the entire costs of
what you're paying to the carriers for this local voice service. We
call it the "leveragable dollars" to build the next-gen telephony
system.
