March I2 meeting

VOIP Working group

        As you  know Harpal Chohan, our illustrious ex-WG leader, has gone on 
to bigger and better things (namely Cisco).  I know that we all wish him the 
best and would like to thank him for getting the ball rolling.  I talked to 
him a few weeks ago and he mentioned that he has told Cisco that he would 
like to keep working in the VOIP arena so he may continue to be a valuable 
resource.  

         I have agreed to chair the March Session at the I2 meeting in DC.  
We have several issues pending and I would like to make some progress before 
the meeting.  We have been given the 11:45 to 12:45 time slot on Friday March 
9th for the WG meeting.  I would appreciate assistance on the following items:

                ·       Agenda items for the March 9th meeting
·       WG chair (co-chair) nominations
·       Information for the web page i.e. Charter and Hot Topics
·       Direction that you (your institution) would like to see the WG follow

        At the last meeting we talked about the VOIP test bed and were trying 
to get 20 Universities to participate in the trial.  I will try to have a web 
form available by the end of this week that we could use to gather the 
background information needed to get the trial started.  As soon as it is on 
line I will send the URL to all WG members.  The results will be provided to 
all participants at the March meeting.  Please be sure to fill out the form 
since the information will be important to facilitate the discussions at the 
WG meeting.
