Please join us for our monthly PIC conference call today.  It's that time of year, and I'm sure many of us are busy with the start of school.  Has this year's crop of students/devices/applications brought any new challenges or opportunities?  As one example, emerging solutions in near-field communications (NFC) could present a world of new options for "enhanced presence" - and integrated communication.  Does anyone know of efforts in XMPP that integrate NFC (perhaps NFC events -> PubSub node)?  I suspect this would mostly be on the client side - do any existing NFC apps include XMPP options?  Seems like a natural fit...

Let's discuss.

Also, this is our last regularly scheduled meeting before the Fall Member Meeting.  Registration is still open, and the hotel block is good through this Sunday. Is there anything to discuss before the meeting?  Our PIC meeting is Wednesday during lunch.
