FYI, our existing who's who page for XMPP deployments is at:
https://wiki.internet2.edu/confluence/display/picwg/XMPP+Jabber+deployments

I just created a sub-page to hold the results from our current search/survey.
So far, it is a simple start - there's a table for organized results, plus
some of our raw search results. Feel free to put other raw information below
the table for now. At some point, the results will have to be compiled and
organized for sharing.
Please add the info for any institutions that you know are running
Jabber/XMPP.

In other business, I was setting up IM on a new machine when I ran across
this:

https://imo.im/
This is a "secure" web-based IM aggregator / chat client. They use HTTPS by
default, and correlate your account info from multiple IM services
(encrypted, they say). You login to your IM servers - not their server.
They don't explicitly state XMPP/Jabber support, but I put in my Jabber JID,
selected "Google Talk", and everything worked great!

The downside, for now, is group chat is down: "We have temporarily removed
group chat. We are working on a redesign and will bring it back in the
future." Their groupchat is supposed to work across IM domains.
I've only had a few minutes with it today, but it looks worthy of a follow
up. Some of you may have seen this, if so, I'd be glad to hear about your
experiences.

Everyone,
Please join us for our bi-weekly conference call today. We'll follow up on
last meeting's direction/planning discussion, and we'll get updates on the
"inventory" of Jabber/XMPP institutions.

Jorj just upgraded the chat server from OpenFire to Prosody, so 1) Join the
groupchat today to try it out: make sure your account and the chat room work
for you, and 2) See what Jorj has to say about the transition and new server.
Also, I believe the certs got updated since last time - the new ones worked
fine for me, but keep an eye out for that too.

Other topics are always welcome.
