April 2nd attendees:

April 13 - PIC chat lunch brown bag

Tim will present/help Internet2 staff configure PIC chat client for SMM use

 

Action items:

- Make sure the web page shows that we have a release.

- Tim summary teaser paragraph (using Deke's into doc)

- Tim to contact Rodney for permission to use his document

- how should it be presented? zip file?

- Elaine to make sure documents are public accessible

- possibly have Confluence export the pages

- 2 or 3 pdfs into a zip file

- Tim come up with front page to look draw attention to the package 

- links to pdf version of other pages confluence 'save as pdf'

- take front page and generate as a document to handout

- once updated broadcast announcement on the jabber server

- printed deadline April 16th

- Jorj - rooms names are the same as last year's SMM [Jorj to revise if necessary]

 

Elaine to work with Beth on website update http://pic.internet2.edu/

- pic.edu distribution

- get rid of expired information

- keep as much history as possible

- keep it simple (one or two screens)

- create links to the recent stuff

- create a timeline with content

- client recommendation

 

SMM

- working group meeting will be April 27th, 4:00 - 5:00 pm in meeting room Lee

- side meeting session should have a mic in the room 

- Elaine will bring a  USB Chat50 speakerphone

- possibly use Second LIfe as the virtual meeting space? (would be a high degree of difficulty)

- discuss potential partnerships, Tim to send invite to kick off discussion (possibly meet for breakfast or lunch)

  *web enabling xmtp or some messaging service without using the web client. 

  *what's the latest about shibb nonweb applications? 

  *what is the business case for nonweb apps?

  *tech level functionally interoperable

  *do we have enough information to ask the right questions?

  *federated authentication in a non web environment
