Hi all,

I've made some changes to the document based on Steve's comment and a comment that came up in the conference call today. I also moved the questions around and added an introduction. We still need help on the question that asks "Which, if any, of the following features would you find useful in an IM/presence system?", particularly in making these questions less protocol specific, since they do focus a little on SIMPLE and we chose to go with an XMPP package. If you have a greater knowledge of XMPP than I do, please check this section.

thanks,
Candace

Can you come up with a multiple choice listing, or should this be an essay question? We were somewhat reluctant to include essay questions based on keeping it short.....

I didn't want to suggest topics for the user community to discuss but instead hoped someone would report something new and unusual and hopefully interesting. If such a question doesn't fit the survey format I'm OK withdrawing it.

I'd ask if an organization is using IM what positive and negative lessons surprised them the most.
