*Discussion*

The group discussed developments at Spring 2006 VON:
- Ben T. was there promoting ISN; see "Talks" and "Papers" at
http://people.internet2.edu/~ben/. Dennis noted that in the ENUM session, a
comment from the audience about ISN prompted the panelists to say it will take
15 years to make everything reachable by email address, and ENUM will be
needed
throughout that interval.
- Ben and Dennis were impressed with the Tello demo. Tello
(http://www.tello.com) runs on Blackberry among other devices; Ben and Dennis
noted its similarity to what PIC is trying to do. Dennis described it as
"a leap forward in coolness".
- Dennis presented at a session on open-source PBXes.
- Dennis noted that the SJ Labs (http://sjlabs.com) client coming out this
summer will do both XMPP and SIP.
- Rodger noted a focus on "place shifting" -- e.g. watching your local cable
service from a hotel room. See
http://pulverblog.pulver.com/archives/004190.html.
- Dennis was impressed with Grandstream's new $295 desktop videophone; see
http://www.grandstream.com/GXV3000_announcement.pdf.
