[ACTION] After the Member Meeting, the group will revisit its call schedule.

whether messages should go straight to voicemail.
[ACTION] Jamey will update the interface requirements document.
[ACTION] Jamey will continue working on the future of the skiffs, and solicit

[ACTION] People will research skiff-like offerings from various companies:

[ACTION] Candace will look into Tyler Johnson's H.350-enabled version of the

*Discussion*
The group discussed plans for the Internet2 Member Meeting.
- The Tuesday evening PIC working group meeting
(events.internet2.edu/2005/fall-mm/sessionDetails.cfm?session=2314&event=239)
will focus on reports from the PIC-SER groups (see the presentation
guidelines in Rodger's Sept. 6 email) and a big-picture discussion of future
directions for the WG. [ACTION] Rodger will send out a draft agenda for the
PIC WG meeting in Philadelphia. John suggested that the WG meeting include a
demo component; [ACTION] Ben T. will ensure that pals-dev.internet2.edu is
available for users to register and experiment with during the WG meeting.
- On Wednesday morning, the Real-Time Communications Advisory Group (RTC-AG)
will hold a "Town Hall"
(events.internet2.edu/2005/fall-mm/sessionDetails.cfm?session=2291&event=239).
PIC members are encouraged to attend.
The September 15 conference call will include further discussion of plans for
the PIC WG and RTC-AG meetings in Philadelphia.
Candace observed that PIC conference calls have been getting shorter lately;
the
group discussed what if anything needs to be done about this. On the one hand,
everyone has lots of other work to do; on the other hand, as Ben T. pointed
out,
these meetings are supposed to have a SIG component as well as a business
component. Ben T. suggested scheduling specific topics for open discussion;
this
could include having a guest speaker introduce the topic. There was general
agreement with this suggestion. [ACTION] Rodger and Steve will try to schedule
Colin Jennings as a guest speaker on one of the PIC conference calls. The
group
will also give some thought to moving to a biweekly schedule. Rodger will
make a
point of giving people lots of time to suggest new topics when the end of the
call agenda is reached. Rodger also encourages all PIC WG members to send him
their suggestions for future directions for the group.
Ben T. also suggested using the presence tools and the 24/7 phone bridge
to allow meetings to happen whenever a quorum can be gathered. There was
interest in trying this as an experiment, but no specific plans were made.
