As a sort of lurker on this list, I thought of the PIC WG the other
day when I took a taxi to the airport in Honolulu. You may have all
seen this already, but just in case, there was an excellent
application of GPS/GPRS, a 8" x 8" LCD screen which kept the cab's
location on a map at the cab company, handled dispatching and had some
capability for other communications, such as telling the taxi driver
where he was relative to the customer/destination. There didn't appear
to be any moving map navigation, but still, it was an interesting app
and I was fortunate to get to sit in front, with a driver who was
fluent in English, and very excited about the system.
Anyhow, hopefully interesting, maybe pertinent.
