Ben & Jeremy:

Cisco was in the office this week and offered to scare up a speaker for the
Members Meeting. Would PIC want to accept their offer? If so does the PIC
group have any topics they would like Cisco to discuss?

*Discussion*

Jeremy noted that the proposal deadline for the Internet2 Fall Member Meeting
is
June 30. The group agreed to:
- do a demo per Steve's proposal, ideally in a demo room of its own, but
sharing
a room with other demos if necessary;
- not do a track session; and
- hold a WG meeting, the first part of which will be devoted to reports from
the
PIC-SER teams.
[ACTION] Jeremy, Rodger, and Ben T. will write the proposal for the MM
sessions.
[ACTION] Jamey will look into adding fuzzed presence to the MM demo.

The group discussed its participation in the Google Summer of Code
(http://code.google.com/summerofcode.html). It was agreed that PIC will
mentor a
calendar integration project, and co-mentor with SIP.edu on a project to
write a
SIP/SIMPLE plugin for GAIM.

Ben T. is working on bringing up a separate PALS server (PALS-DEV) for
development purposes. Jamey has a machine he can use as a temporary PALS-DEV
if
necessary. There have been recurring problems with the production PALS server
locking up; [ACTION] Candace and Jamey will compile a "how to un-wedge the
server" document.

PIC-SER applications have been accepted from UCLA, Florida State, Penn, MIT,
Columbia, i2CAT (Catalonia), and UNAM (Mexico). Congratulations to the PIC-SER
participants!

It was agreed that the PIC-SER list will be open for self-subscription,
subject
to moderator approval. [ACTION] Candace will accept Jan Janek's offer to host
a
Debian version of PALS for PIC-SER. Candace is letting the PIC-SER
participants
know that the PIC-SER package will not be ready by June 24 as previously
planned. [ACTION] Jamey, Candace, and Ben T. will test the latest PIC-SER RPM
and install documentation.
