*Discussion*

The group discussed UAs for Austin:
- As far as Joe knows, there has been no progress on the Web UA. [ACTION] Joe
will contact Steve Blair about web UA issues.
- Jamey noted that the Python UA for PocketPC is not working yet, but looks
promising enough to keep working on.
- Jamey noted that the CGU SIP UA is being rewritten to use NIST SIP, so it
won't be available for Austin.
- [ACTION] Ben T. will have Bob Riddle contact Wave3 for an update on their
client.
- [ACTION] Ben T. will follow up with the x10 folks on Austin participation.
- [ACTION] Joe will contact Apple about UAs for Austin.
- Jeff Pulver is looking for people to test his new Communicator UA. We need
to
get them an updated client requirements doc; it was agreed that the only
things
that need to be added are the LDAP pieces.
- Ben T. noted that a Swedish company called Marratech
(http://www.marratech.com/) makes another client and appears to want to work
with us.

[ACTION] Ben T. will set up a client management subgroup, to chase down leads,
maintain contact with vendors, keep the client requirements doc up to date,
and
test clients. Ben noted that this group may need to sell vendors on the idea
of
Internet2 more broadly than just PIC. Jeremy will participate in this
subgroup.
[ACTION] Joe will add client management to the subgroups list.

Pulver.com is now an Internet2 Corporate Member. VON Is October 18-21 in
Boston;
[ACTION] Ben T. will talk to Carl Ford from Pulver.com about scaling up
Internet2's participation in VON.

There was general agreement that the group needs to be exercising the PALS
server more. One way to do this would be to use it for these weekly conference
calls; however, this has been tried before without success. [ACTION] Before
the
July 22 call, Ben T. and Jeremy will test the PALS server for use on the
weekly
conference calls; based on the results, Jeremy will send out the appropriate
PALS and/or eDial contact info for the July 22 call.

[ACTION] Ben T. will write a wrapper -- a proxy that rewrites things like
email
addresses into SIP URIs -- to provide click-to-dial support for SIP.edu.
