Ben:

I've made contact with the Manager of Business Development
at Xten. He is reviewing the PIC project trying to determine if Xten is
going to participate. I'll email the group if Xten decides to join.

Thanks,Steve

*Discussion*

The group welcomed Larry Schessel of Cisco. Larry works with a variety of
Cisco
business units to spearhead introducing SIP into the Cisco enterprise
solution.
Cisco wants to use SIP for things beyond what you can do with a PBX, so
they're
interested in the PIC WG's demos and work on educational uses for PIC
technologies. Larry noted that he's here both to listen and to offer Cisco's
help where appropriate. He has links to most of Cisco's business units. [AI]
Larry will find out the current status of location technologies in Cisco's
WiFi
business unit. Larry also offered to bring someone onto PIC calls from that
unit
if needed.

[AI] Jeremy will send out a list of PIC-related meetings at the Spring
Internet2
Member Meeting. [Done March 5.] All are exhorted to come to as many as you
can.

The group reviewed action items from the previous call:

1. Circulate requirements doc. Deke -> Apple. Ben -> Microsoft. Other
companies
mentioned without assignment: Sun, Wave3, Xten, Claremont and Nortel.
- Ben stressed the need to get the doc out to the UA vendors soon. [AI] Ben T.
will call his contact at Microsoft, stressing that PIC is looking to Microsoft
to do the Windows development. (Internet2's Bob Riddle is also going to put a
little time into development using the SDK.) Ben has contacted Sun, but
there's
been no real conversation yet. [AI] Steve will contact Wave3 and Xten, and get
an update from Deke and prod him to talk to Apple. [See the thread starting
with
Steve's March 5 note to the list.] [AI] Jeremy will contact Claremont. [AI]
Ben
T. will work on finding a contact at Nortel. [AI] Joe Rork and Ben T. will try
some Nortel interoperability testing, running the client against SARA and SBS.
[AI] Jeremy will get Joe and Ben the ID info for SBS.

2. Joe will coordinate with staff in re putting Polycoms in rooms.
- [AI] Ben T. will resend his note to Angi, adding another person who might be
able to help, and get a response for Joe.
[AI] Jeremy will carry forward the plan re headsets.

3. Art and Ben will follow up on adding slides to room bugging.
- Ben T. knows of no progress here.

Ben T. asked if we're ready to start daily testing against pals.internet2.edu.
[AI] Ben T. will look into replicating the PALS config we had in Hawaii, and
resend related info to Xiaotao.
