Okay - sipc works on my linux laptop after I install the alsa 1.0.2 sound support (http://www.alsa-project.org) and replaced the default sound support chosen by RedHat. I had a short "phone call" with Art Gaylord where I promised to put together a message detailing how I built and installed the alsa stuff ... if anybody besides me is interested.

That would be useful. I use Mandrake Linux on my laptop, which has come with Alsa pre-installed for a while now.

I'd be happy to have Jamey nag me about a UI for Linphone & I'd be happy to work with (or nag) Xiaotao about configuration parms to ease the linux usability (eth0/eth1, utilities, etc.) and I'd be happy to try & port this to OS X (or just complain about the lack of an OS X sipc client).

Cool. I would like to see either or both of sipc and linphone ported to OS X. I believe that Simon Morlat has a Qt interface for linphone in development, which would be able to run natively on OS X. Of course, the current GTK interface would work fine as well under X11 on OS X.
