the application came up! Ha! must be because my wireless is at eth1 instead of eth0? I might try a phone call ... if I can find the phone directory!

Seems 'ifconfig' causes problem. Can you try to run /sbin/ifconfig eth0 | grep inet and see what's the result? I remember you mentioned that you are using eth1, I created a version using eth1 and put it at the same place: http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~xiaotaow/wgpic/sipc Thanks! -Xiaotao =========================================================== Name : Xiaotao Wu Email : , Homepage : http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~xiaotaow Phone : (212)939-7054, Fax: (801)751-0217 Phone-PC : (212)939-7133 SIP : Office : Room 506, Mudd building, West 120th =========================================================== On Mon, 26 Jan 2004, Bob Riddle wrote:I just downloaded this and did a "mv sipc sipc.linux" and then ran sipc ... same error but it did create the ~/.sipc directory!
