Minutes from 12/4 PIC conference call
Attending: Steve Blair, Candace Holman, Joe Roark, Jamey Hicks,
Jeremy George, Jason Gaedtke (did I miss someone?)
Comcast joined the call for the first time. Welcome! Jason gave us
a brief overview of Comcast's interest in PIC.
It was noted that both Christmas and New Year's Day are Thursdays this
year. We'll have a PIC call 12/11 and 12/18, and then again beginning
1/4/04.
There was a brief recap of the Columbia meeting. From our perspective
it was very helpful. I exchanged notes with Henning afterward and he
also thought the meeting was good. Many thanks for the hospitality.
We discussed the practical logistics of a machine to house the proxy
and location engine at Hawaii. Jamey volunteered to ship both from
Cambridge. Thank you! In the meantime he'll set up a machine in
Cambridge that we can begin setting up on. Then, we can just back it
up and restore it on the box in Hawaii.
We need to determine the exact dates of the demo. Should it continue
on a day or so longer for APAN? When should equipment and the people
setting it up arrive in Hawaii?
Also, how can we make arrangements to get everything safely back to
the CRL after demo is over, especially if we extend it a bit for APAN?
Steve asked about the clients we expect to support. SIPc of course.
Steve's going to check in with Wave3Software. Joe will check in with
Nortel, which may be interested. Jamey suggested Linphone. In all we
should be fine.
We'll need about three dozen static IP addresses for the skiffs and
machines.
If we want to provide ALS to the outside areas near the EastWest Center,
we need to know something about the relevant distances.
