Presence and IntComm WG

  Despite the many and sundry hiccoughs we appear to have succeeded in
putting Rich Presence and Location Based Services on the map.  In fact,
we may have succeeded beyond our expectations in some ways.  So, cheers
and thanks to all.

  And, of course, this is both the good news and the bad news.  We are
being encouraged to bring the Rich Presence and Location Based Services
demo to Hawaii in January for the next Joint Techs meeting.

  Frankly, I have mixed feelings about this.  Time is short.  On balance,
though, my sense is that we've given the pot a fairly large stir and
we need to accept something of a tornadic ride as a consequence.  It's
in the category of A Good Thing despite the push.

  Now comes the reality check.  Can we do it?  Do what exactly?  Who
is willing to commit the cycles to make it happen?  Who can make the
trip?  Let's spend a few days thinking about it.  Use the list if you
like.  I'd like us to convene next Thursday at our regular conference
call time to talk it through.

  In the next day or two I'll post a lessons learned note.  Perhaps we
can push that around a little.  Maybe it will help us figure out
what/when to do things?
