Yes, it's meant to be specific to the conference only. We would like
to demonstrate the SIP.edu initiative where email: and sip: use the
same address. So,
email:
gets to my inbox and
sip:
rings my phone. For most people this will
be a new experience.

The subject hasn't come up. I vote for authentication. We could give
it to attendees when they register. Or email it to them. A good
question.
