The content is actually encrypted by the encoders, so we have a layer of
protection that way. We can also control who gets to click the links on
the web portal to launch a player. Our third layer even within the campus
has been to control which subnets can join which multicast groups. All of
these layers taken together have been very beneficial in terms of allaying
fears from content providers.
It's certainly possible that just using methods 1 and 2 will still suffice,
but if there's a "best practices" way of accomplishing what I described and
thus get method 3 protection as well, everyone would be much happier. :)
