Reminder that the Multicast WG BoF is 12:00-1:15 in Napoleon A3 on the 3rd floor. If you have any specific topics to discuss, please let me know so I can put together an agenda. Items I would like to hear about are:
- progress with high bandwidth multicast over WiFi
- status of any new apps that use multicast
- methods of session advertisement that don't require SAP (also known as "ASM must die")
- what's (still) preventing widespread SSM adoption?
Also note there's an IPTV BoF Tuesday noon, an Intercast talk Wed 4:30 & I'm sure I've missed something.
Hope to see you.

I was just catching up on email and realized this would have been much more useful if I had sent it a couple of hours ago. (Before the BoF).
Anyway in the last day or after some discussion of roaming and problems on a wireless mailing list I was reading up on that issue with Cisco's Wireless. And I found this
"Currently, multicast traffic cannot be passed during inter-subnet roaming. With this in mind, you would not want to design an inter- subnet network for SpectraLink phones that need to send multicast traffic while using push to talk. "
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/5.1/configuration/guide/c51mobil.html
This only affects a certain kind of roaming but it means that we probably have one more question to add to the list to ask vendors.
"Does multicast work when roaming between APs?"
