We have a developer working on a new SAP server, that should work with SDP files created for/by H.264 MPEG4 RTSP multicast streams generated by Wirecast, QuickTime Broadcaster, and Darwin Streaming Server/Quicktime Streaming Server playlists. It may also work with other H.264 MPEG4 RTSP multicast encoders.
The SAP server will run on OSX initially, but will be ported to Linux and Windows. It will be free to use by the educational and non-profit community.
We hope to make it available to interested testers by early August, at the latest. It's IPv4, and GUI based.
This is by no means meant to interfere with fixing or improving miniSAPserver, or to discourage implementation of newer and better discovery/announce technologies.
It's a project we started a few months ago, and thought it would be a good time to let the list know about it.
When started, there was very little interest in SAP issues, we just wanted a SAP server that worked, and there was nothing around.
Will put up more info when relevant.
