This is to announce the second Internet2 Hands-On Multicast Workshop hosted
by Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) Argonne, IL. This
workshop will meet at ANL on 10, 11, and 12 Dec (Tue-Thur, starting at 9AM on
Tue.)

A brief description of the workshop is below. For more details plus a link
to the registration page please see:

http://www.multicasttech.com/workshop/

Over the course of this workshop students will design and set up a set of
inter-connected multicast networks. The workshop will
consist of a set of hands on exercises for small network teams. The workshop
will be limited to 20 participants and those
participants will be divided into four teams. Each team will have a mix of 3
routers and over the course of the workshop teams will
configure their own network, inter-connect with the other teams, and then attach to
the outside R&E world through ESnet & Abilene

The workshop's registration fee is $200. Individuals will need to make their own
travel & lodging arrangements (but see the Argonne
Guest House information on the web page.)

The workshop is of limited capacity (20) with several approaching deadlines.
o 11 Nov - citizens of foreign countries must register to allow time for
processing by ANL
o 11 Nov - cutoff date for block of reserved rooms at the on-site guest
house. (nb It is expect that rooms at the guest house
will be available for some period after the 11th. Also, there are several
hotels in the area around ANL.)
o 1 Dec - registration cut-off

Each attendee will need to bring a laptop with both Ethernet and 802.11b
wireless connectivity.
